Bazan Bay 5k – Banner on display.
I gave Minimax Media dramatic license in producing the banner. The only creative production direction provided from me was on using Helvetica font and the order in which the sponsors appear (and size). I paid for the banner of course however, they are providing demo use for the stand. Notice the banner was not duct taped to a wall or roped up – it was the best looking banner in the Mary Winspear Centre, during the awards for the Vancouver Island Race Series, Bazan Bay 5k.
I think about 20 brochures were picked up and taken away, mostly by moms talking about how they are going to give it their sons. So I started to say that the series isn’t just for elites.
Track produces images in the runner’s mind of the runner being exposed to the spectators in a glaring fashion, but really it’s like putting the swimsuit on in spring, finally, after a long winter. You hang out at the beach, put the regular clothes back on later and think, “gee that was no big deal”.
To all you moms and dads: race track, it’s a gas!
