Canadian Record on the Line – This Saturday
I got an email message from Peter Holmes who suggested he and his 3 friends (who I know) would like to go after the Canadian Male 50-plus age-group record for the distance: 4 x 800m.
The current 50-plus, Canadian age-group record for the 4 x 800m is 9:20. That is an average of 2:20 per 800m.
The good old boys to toe the line are:
Kevin Searle, Garth Campbell, Mark Pinkhard and Peter Holmes, 3 of 4 are member of the Prairie Inn Harriers Running Club – a 700 member strong club based in Victoria.
This is fast for 3 of the four guys, but doable. A couple of the guys will be over the 2:20 however, at least 1 will be under. Can they do it? It will be exciting to find out and watch. Come on out!
The gun goes for the first race at 6:30 PM at The University of Victoria’s Centennial Stadium.
All races are on video. Results same night, probably.

That’ll be fun to see! This is like a Victoria version of the European Grand Prix circuit! Do you want us to let you know before each meet what events we want to go in, or are we automatically entered in everything, provided we sign in 30 min. before and the total entrants are within sixteen (?) per event? Thanks Chris, see you Saturday.
