CEVAC Running Club

The Cowichan Valley Athletic ClubCEVACS!

Are you from the Cowichan Valley? How about Mill Bay, Cobble Hill, Lake Cowichan, Chemainus, Crofton, Duncan, Maple Bay or Shawnigan Lake?

The Cowichan Valley Athletic Club (Cevac) foster track, road and cross-country running for athletes of all ages and like to promote kids into the sport as well. The City of Duncan owns a beautiful and fairly new 400m track, which is situated on the east side of the hwy in town.

Ever venture off the hwy, when in Duncan? Many people drive through Duncan assuming that the mid-way of franchise restaurants and box stores are all that the City offers. Not true. Head west and check out the downtown part. I have there is an excellent art and framing shop, furniture stores, cafes, a very popular women’s fashions shoe store as well. But there is that track on the other side of town.

If you need a workout and need to do it on the track, check out their facility. Check out he CEVACs as well. They also host the Cobble Hill 10k road race, which is the second event in the very popular, Vancouver Island Race Series. The course is fast, devoid of vehicular traffic and the event is typical of smaller city/town events – friendly.

Watch for some of the CEVAC club members racing during the Q’s Victoria Track Series, starting May 14th and running (literally) through to Saturday, September 3rd.
