I am very pleased to have been presented with the Prairie Inn Harrier’s award, ‘Excellence in Track Organization’ for 2010.

The 700-member strong club hosted their annual awards night at the Cedar Hill Golf Club Friday, February 25th. Over 100 guests showed up and many awards and draw prizes were presented. Most of the recipients (6) who were not in attendance were away in Hawaii or Mexico, can you blame them?

The awards are listed below with a few words from Bob Reid of the Harriers. You will notice some names from the 2010 Q’s Victoria Track Series, including Lucy Smith who won two awards. Lucy of course is putting on the 4-part Women’s Only Track Clinic Series in May.

I would like to thank Susan Norrington for suggesting to recognize the series at the awards night. Sure my name is on it, but there are many others who deserve a piece of the award. I do name them in the latest edition of the club’s newsletter which I am proud to be the editor of, The Prairie Inn Post. Printed copies were made for all in attendance and an electronic copy will be available soon at the Prairie Inn Harriers website.

In case you missed the ceremony tonight, here are the 46 award winners for the club. About 100 Harriers attended the festivities at Cedar Hill Golf Course on a frigid -7 degree night. The food was delicious and all but six of the recipients were in attendance. Congrats to all who performed so well in an extraordinary display of distances, disciplines, determination and ages. A special pat on the back goes to the double winners, Sonja and Shane, Gary and Andrew and Lucy and Louise.
