Will Two Records Fall this Saturday?
Maurice Tarrant is 80-years of age, but that has not slowed him much. He has taken down 4 consecutive Canadian age-group records in 4 attempts during The Q’s Victoria Track Series, will attempt another record this Saturday, bettering his own mile record from July 17th. He was not too far off the world record. Perhaps if everything goes to plan, he can take the world record. THAT would be exciting.
GO MAURICE!
Also, Paul O’Callaghan who has run sub-5:00 a couple times recently is looking to take down the Provincial (BC) 45-49 age-group record, which (will have to check) may be currently held by ex-Brit, Mike Creery at 4:38.
This Saturday, may be a very short evening as the two race distances are, 800m and 1 mile – pretty short!
Be sure to check out the silent auction page and the growing list of silent auction items that are indicated there. Silent Auction proceeds go to the Mustard Seed food Bank – this will happen Sunday August 22nd at the Sticky Wicket – with series awards night.
